Happiness is a Macbook on a Cozy Desk

It is said that a headshot of a beautiful woman is the best way to persuade people (men and women) to click on an ad. However, a new trend is emerging: the picture of a Macbook, preferably a 13-inch Macbook Air, on a cozy desk surrounded by a couple of other items: a small notebook, an iPhone, and a cup of coffee (or a glass of water).

Should we expect to see this trend of technology replacing humans in advertisement? Is this a response to the trend of men preferring technology to women (used to be 1 in 8, now 1 in 5) and vice versa? Or maybe the ad industry is the cause for preferring technology to people?
